Ground Effects Landscaping


Ground Effects Landscaping was established in 1995 in Cohasset, MA. From humble beginnings, our firm has grown into an Eastern MA mainstay that has served the region for over 30 years. Our clients trust us to establish and care for the short- and long-term needs of their outdoor spaces.

 

We are masters of our trade, delivering proven expertise in landscape design, construction, maintenance and snow management. Focusing on what we do best and partnering with regional experts, we act as your project manager.


Ground Effects is proud to provide residential and commercial landscaping and snow management services to properties throughout the South Shore, Cape Cod and Eastern Massachusetts. Our Team


Sean Bishop

Owner & President

As owner and president of Ground Effects Landscaping, Sean has developed a company firmly rooted in higher education and firsthand expertise. Sean earned a BA in Landscape Architecture from the prestigious School of Architecture and Horticulture at the University of Rhode Island. Sean is an industry leader who is committed to developing the next generation of Green Industry Professionals through partnerships with South Shore Vocational Technical School, Silver Lake Regional High School and the University of Rhode Island. Sean has served as a Board Member and Advisor throughout the Green Industry Sean brings over three decades of field experience in design and construction to Ground Effects clientele allowing him to orchestrate your landscape needs from design to installation and it’s maintenance.


Luke Hawkins

Vice President of Landscaping Operations

Luke has over 20 years of South Shore field experience in landscape maintenance operations, and knows, firsthand, how to deal with the challenges of ocean-impacted landscapes. Luke is a graduate of The Green School at the University of Massachusetts. He holds MA Licensed Pesticide Applicator and Hydraulics Operator licenses. Luke oversees the sales and operation of our maintenance division. Luke is a consummate professional who caters to client needs by crafting programs to achieve their goals.


John Alves

Director of Field Operations

John has over 30 years' experience in both landscaping and crew management. John manages the complex day-to-day field operations of the entire maintenance division. He utilizes his broad knowledge of horticulture and turf management to educate and train every member of the Ground Effects team ensuring the highest levels of quality and professionalism.


Construction Manager

Jim has been working in the landscape construction industry for over 40 years. Jim is a seasoned professional with a keen eye for detail and the ability to bring the most complex plans to life.   Jim holds MA Hydraulics and Hoisting as well as Class A CDL licenses. 


Office Manager

Dianne is a veteran office manager who has steered the ship for over 20 years. Dianne manages the day to day administrative operations for Ground Effects Landscaping, including the commercial trucking division. 


Retail Sales Manager

Matt brings over 20 years of experience in the Green Industry from field work to nursery management to Ground Effects Landscaping. Matt’s invaluable experience in all aspects of the Green Industry guides both our retail and landscaping services clients to the right materials for their vision. Matt holds a MA Hydraulics and Hoisting License as well as  extensive horticulture knowledge.
